Joerg Schmidt joined So & Sato as a foreign associate in 2019. Joerg specializes in capital markets and new technologies. Before joining So & Sato, he worked as a corporate lawyer for a leading German law firm in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. There he was involved in various cross-border M&A transactions and represented European and US American companies in a broad range for corporate and commercial matters, including joint ventures, restructuring, and finance. He further advised a leading premium car manufacturer on the roll-out of in-vehicle communication systems in South-East Asia. Joerg currently writes a Ph.D. thesis about initial coin offerings (ICOs) and security token offerings (STOs) and acts as the ambassador of the International Token Standardization Association (ITSA) in Tokyo. In 2017/2018 he took part in the Oxford Fintech Program.
